and i want this hairstyle except i'm keeping my color, and for the highlights/streaks i'm getting lighter browns and blondes. do you think it will look good?

You could get it a little shorter than that but definitely get it layered as for streaks it would look good (:
The second pic looks trashy so no...keep ure hair the way it is and perhaps go 2 inches shorter for a fresher look..
